The Island

The Island

Have you been to Kapiti Island? It is off the coast of Paraparaumu on the Kapiti Coast. Kapiti Island is covered in green trees like a warm green puffer jacket, rocks and wildlife. Now it is a nature reserve with lots of native birds to New Zealand. But how did it get there? Once there was a tribe that was named Whaboom. There trible area is the kapiti coast one day they wanted a island to fish off. So they got rocks to skim the rocks in the water the first guy that was named Bob. Bob was old he was the owner of the Marae that the tribe was based on, he skimmed 10. The next guy Geoff was only 10 his Dad is Bob, he skimmed 11, then this lady named Lucy is Geoff’s  Mum. She skimmed a rock and it went 20 skims across the water, it was the best skim in history, she was the best in the tribe. Then they kept doing it and doing it everyday, then one day this thing the was an Island. It  popped out of the water and that is how Kapiti Island was created.

The Land And The Sea

By Wyatt

Well, sand was made by the rocks and boulders that went into the sea. Nemo, a small orange and white clown fish, was out swimming calmly through the ocean seaweed. Bruce the big grey shark was out looking for breakfast when he saw an orange fish in the distance. Then Nemo was getting chased in circles by Bruce the shark and that was what made a tornado in the water that made the rocks grind together that made sand then it got wash onto the beach then the cycle kept on going and going and that was how sand was made.
